Last Mountain Regional Landfill
The Last Mountain Regional Landfill (LMRL) operates as an independent entity and authority. While the RM of McKillop is a stakeholder and contributor to the landfill, it does not manage its operations.

1 mile west of the Highway #322 and Highway #220 intersection, on the north side of the highway. Watch for signs.
Please note: The LMRL now accepts debit card payments.
Hours of Operation
Summer Hours (May 1 to October 31):
- Wednesday & Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Monday of Long Weekends: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Winter Hours (November 1 to April 30):
- Wednesday & Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Landfill Deliveries & Recycling Guidelines
To assist with recycling, ALL ITEMS MUST BE SEPARATED. Please ensure that loads are separated as follows:
- Scrap Metal
- Appliances
- Concrete
- Scrap Lumber
- Branches and Trees
- Glass
- Stones
- Dutch Elm Trees
Contractors must separate the following materials:
- Shingles
- Concrete
- Metal
- Dirt/Soil
Dutch Elm Disease Disposal
The landfill accepts branches and trees infected with Dutch Elm Disease. The disposal fee for this is $90 per metric tonne, with a $15 minimum for up to 200 kg.
You must notify the landfill ahead of time and provide the appropriate authorization from the Ministry of Environment. For more information, please visit our Dutch Elm Disease Page.
Please note: The landfill reserves the right to refuse any load that is not properly separated.
Items Not Accepted at the Landfill
The following items cannot be accepted at the landfill:
- Animal Carcasses
- Propane Tanks
- Tires (should be recycled at tire dealers)
- Pesticide Containers (should be returned to an Agro Centre)
- Paint (should be returned to SARCAN)
- Biomedical Waste
- Batteries (collected by the Bulyea Lions Club)
- Petroleum Hydrocarbon (PHC) Contaminated Soils
- Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)
- Liquid Waste
- Hazardous Waste
Where to Take Items Not Accepted at the Landfill
- Tires: Recycle at tire dealers
- Pesticide & Herbicide Containers: Return to an Agro Centre
- Paint: Return to SARCAN
- Batteries: Collected by the Bulyea Lions Club

Grain Bag Recycling
Starting January 2020, the Last Mountain Regional Landfill accepts rolled and secured grain bags free of charge. Drop-off days will be set and posted on the landfill's Facebook page.
