Last Mountain Regional Landfill

LMRL is its own entity and authority. The RM of McKillop is a stakeholder and contributor to the Landfill but does not manage the operations of the landfill in any way.

Regional Landfill Location – SW 25-23-23-W2nd

  • 1 mile West of Highway #322 and Highway #220 intersection on the north side of highway - watch for signs

The LMRL Now Accepts Debit.

Hours of Operation

Summer Hours - May 1 to October 31

  • Wednesday & Saturday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Sunday: 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • Monday of Long Weekends: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Winter Hours - November 1 to April 30

  • Wednesday & Saturday: 10:00am – 3:00pm

Landfill Deliveries

To assist with recycling, ALL ITEMS MUST BE SEPARATED – 

Loads MUST be separated according to: 

  • Scrap metal                     •  Appliances
  • Concrete                         •  Scrap Lumber
  • Branches and trees         •  Glass
  • Stones                             Dutch Elm Trees

Contractors MUST separate loads according to:

  • Shingles                           •  Concrete
  • Metal                                •  Dirt/Soil

Dutch Elm Disease

The Landfill also accepts Branches and trees infected with Dutch Elm Disease. The Landfill Disposal Fee Is $90 Per Metric Tonne With A $15 Minimum For Up To 200 Kg. You must notify them ahead of time and have the appropriate authorization from the Ministry of Environment. see our Dutch Elm Disease Page for more info

THE LANDFILL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY LOAD THAT IS NOT SEPARATED.

  • Animal Carcasses
  • Propane Tanks
  • Tires (should be recycled at tire dealers)
  • Pesticide Containers (should be returned to an Agro Centre)
  • Paint (SARCAN)
  • Biomedical Waste
  • Batteries (Collected by Bulyea Lions Club)
  • Petroleum Hydrocarbon (PHC) Contaminated Soils
  • Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)
  • Liquid Waste
  • Hazardous Waste

Where to take items not accepted at the landfill

Tires - Recycle at tire dealers

Pesticide & Herbicide Containers - Return to Agro Centre

Paint - Sarcan

Batteries - Collected by the parents for WDS Travel Club

**New Grain Bags Recycling

Starting in January 2020, the Last Mountain regional landfill will be accepting rolled and secured grain bags free of charge.  drop off days will be set and posted on the facebook page.
